The world of Little League Baseball coaching is full of adventure and excitement, rewards and challenges, and most importantly, children and baseball. Agreeing to become a Little League baseball coach is a big step. You agree to be responsible for other people’s children and help keep them safe, teach them the game of baseball, and maybe even a little bit of life skills. Being a Little League baseball coach can be a lot of hard work, but in the end it is definetely worth the effort.
Learning to be an effective Little League baseball coach can be frustrating. Between getting an understanding of the game for yourself, then trying to transfer your knowledge to the children can sometimes be difficult to do. Add to that the emotions of children and the attitude of their parents and you may find yourself asking “what did I get myself into?”
That is why I started this blog. To help new coaches develop the knowledge, skills and attitude needed to be a good little league coach. On this site I’ll discuss drills that will help develop your teams skills, planning strategies to make sure that your team is competitive, and insight into making the game enjoyable for everyone involved, even the parents.
If you have questions, comments or suggetions please feel free to leave them in the comment field. I will try my best to help out in any way possible.
